Peel and slit each banana into two, length wise. Wash the slit bananas in salt water.
Place the bananas in a vessel, add 2 cups of water, turmeric, pepper powder, and salt, and turn on the flame to cook.
Alternatively, grind 1 cup coconut powder and cumin, adding little water, to turn it into a paste. Add this paste to the vessel when the bananas are almost cooked.
Let it boil for 2 – 5 minutes more.
Meanwhile, heat ghee in a pan, and let cumin and mustard splutter in it. Add 1 cup of coconut powder to this, allowing it to fry to a golden brown colour. When ready, transfer to the vessel in which the banana is being cooked.
Mix well and turn off the flame.
